MONTEREY, CA

17 MILE DRIVE and PEBBLE BEACH was well worth the $9.50 it cost to drive it. The road hugs the most scenic part of the area with breathtaking views of Pebble Beach and exclusive homesites amongst old growth trees with weathered bark and their unusual growth patterns. The homes along this area were amazing! Most all of them are in the one to two million dollar range.

There were photo ops at every turnout and we took advantage of most of them. As we neared the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course, manicured greens with white sand traps were around every turn. We pulled off the road onto a public beach access turnout. I heard the barking of Seals on a nearby island of volcanic rock and could barely make out 3 to 4 Seals sitting on top like kids playing king of the mountain. I took a few telephoto shots of the rock for later viewing. The photo shows the whole rock was covered with many Seals.

We stopped at the Pebble Beach Pro Shop and took a couple of photos. We bought a couple of souvenirs in a high end shop where a Polo type shirt with the Lone Cypress logo cost $180.00. That's about the same as those in the Pro Shop at Saint Andrews in Scotland, the home of golf!

We headed for Carmel by the Sea to have coffee with Clint Eastwood. We couldn't find him. Looks like I've been stood up again! First Obama, then the Queen, and now Clint. I see how it is.

We headed for Monterey where we had secured a condo at the Worldmark Resort.
Debby cooked Tacos. It was awesome!
