   Leaving our hotel in Barcelona we checked out and walked our luggage to the nearby train station.  The 6 1/2 hour train ride across Spanish and French countryside, provided exquisite views of rolling hills, farms, vineyards and an occasional hilltop castle. 

   We were obliged to show our passports and vaccination records to French authorities aboard our train. After arriving in Paris we hailed a taxi and enjoy the long ride through the suburbs to our hotel.

   Our rooms were small with miniature balconies accessible only to pigeons and a few raindrops. Steve and Rhonda, the Pinkerton‘s daughter and her husband, had already arrived in Paris. We met up with them at the hotel and enjoyed seeing their excitement of being in Paris!

   We grabbed a cab and did a drive-by at the Eiffel tower for a quick photo app. We only wanted to take a quick look on our first day as we will spend more time on the tower in a couple of days. It was exciting because Steve and Rhonda had never been here before.
