NIAGARA FALLS, NY

NIAGARA FALLS, NY

After leaving Monticello, we drove to Singers Glen, VA to see my brother's family. Cliff and Katie live on a cattle farm with three of their youngest kids. We spent two nights there and went to church with them Sunday morning. They attend a small Mennonite church a few miles down the road. We enjoyed the service. In many ways it was similar to our own church. The sermon was great, Biblical and from the heart.

We has a great visit. It was good to see them again....though not all of them. Most of the kids were not able to come. It may be a long while, if ever, if we see each other again.

Sunday afternoon we loaded up and headed south for Stafford, VA to visit with Debby's cousin, Lisa, and her family. We stayed with them until Tuesday morning. I put up a new shower rod in the Boys' bathroom. I also cooked a pot of Chili for Monday evening dinner. Lisa and John work and the boys are doing baseball after school. Busy times for this little family! We left town after I caught Lisa filling out "page 2" of a Honey-Do List for me! (Just kidding).

We spent last night in Springville, NY, just south of Buffalo. We didn't do much there. We just checked in to the Microtel Motel, and ordered delivery food in. We were tired, as it was a long day of driving.

This morning we hit the deck running! We drove to the nearest Cracker Barrel for a hearty breakfast and hot coffee. Then, we headed for the American view of Niagara Falls and spent a couple of hours looking around that area. I was surprised to find snow and ice still piled up on the lower observation deck. The falls was beautiful! There's a SERIOUS amount of water flowing down that river!!

We loaded up and headed over to the Canadian side about 3:00. It took a while to move all the traffic through Checkpoint Charlie, but we were patient!

We found a hotel room on the 15th floor of The Oaks and settled in, in a corner room overlooking the Canadian side of The Niagara Falls. It's an awesome room with a million dollar view! This is amazing! We've been taking pictures like crazy! We walked down the hill and got to see it up close and personal. The sun was shining ALL day and the temperature got to about 60. Just right!

This evening we went to Remington's for a red meat dinner! It was awesome. Now we are relaxing inside our 15th floor, corner suite, looking outside at the City of Niagara lights. The Canadians light up the Falls with colored spot lights that change from white to blue to red, and maybe a couple more.

Now, THAT'S entertainment !!
